Slate Outlook

Today, we have a million options, 18 to be exact. We have zero pitchers over 7.0 or higher and only four over 6.5. Then we have about ten of them with a 6.0 rating. What’s intriguing about this slate is there are nine pitchers who are facing a team’s offense that struggles against their handedness. This means we could see a good amount of strikeouts if not good ratios. With that said I think it’s a shot in the dark type of day to stream.

Today’s Streamer (Under 30% rostered)

While we were all waiting for the Marlins to call up one of their great pitching prospects they decided to roll with Cody Poteet, and I don’t hate it. Poteet takes on the Nationals who are towards the bottom of the league in wRC+ and zone contact in the last seven days. But Poteet is what really interests me. He has only pitched in relief but in 16.1 innings he holds a 0.55 ERA and 0.98 WHIP. The walks could be an issue but his 17.2 SwStr% this season is mind-blowing. His changeup has been straight-up filthy with a 24.0 SwStr%, 42.4 O-Swing%, and -7 wRC+ against it. Throw that changeup!

Your backup option would be Tyler Anderson as he takes on the Arizona Diamondbacks. He is coming fresh off of a horrendous start but he was pitching extremely well before it. The Diamondbacks have a sub-par wRC+ against left-handed pitchers and if you pair that with Anderson’s 15.2 SwStr% in his last three starts, this should work out well.

Deep League Streamer (Under 15% rostered)

Cody Poteet actually qualifies here but a backup option would be James Kaprielian. Kaprielian has been pretty meh since he started pitching this season but the Twins have struggled as of late and they more so take advantage of left-handed pitchers.

Shallow League Streamer (Under 50% rostered)

First, the baseball gods take Strider away as my pick and now they take away Josh Winder. Why can’t we have nice things? I would just grab one of the three mentioned earlier.
