On this Sunday slate, there actually are a bunch of options due to all of the postponed games over the last two days. I only see six really good options for today so if you need to stream this week to win a matchup I would be jumping all over this slate.
Today’s Streamer (Under 30% rostered)
Bruce Zimmermann is the winner for all league formats. Zimmermann has been super solid this season and while I am still a bit skeptical it’s hard not to throw him out there against the Royals. The Royals have been royally bad (see what I did there?) they don’t hit a lot of line drives and their zone contact rate is sub-optimal. Zimmermann is the pick!
Chris Paddack has been pitching exceptionally well this season. The strikeouts aren’t there but in four starts he has a 3.15 ERA, 2.63 xERA, 1.94 FIP, and 3.34 SIERA. Really impressive and it’s working for him so why not jump on the horse and ride it? Paddack takes on the lowly Oakland Athletics, a team that has one of the highest SwStr% in the majors. This is as solid of a stream as there is as he will be our second pick for today.
If Chris Paddack is not an option then I would take a shot with Daniel Lynch. In Lynch’s last two starts he has a 25.6 K%, 0.82 WHIP, 43.5 O-Swing%, and a 2.45 ERA. Lynch gets the opportunity to take on the Orioles who have a high strikeout rate against left-handed pitchers. I think Lynch gets a good amount of strikeouts in this one.
I really like George Kirby but you know our rule about rookies and their first starts. I will say this, if anyone were to pitch well in their debut it would be Kirby. The dude has insane command with good stuff and I am all about him!
Deep League Streamer (Under 15% rostered)
If Zimmermann or Lynch is taken I would roll with Jake Odorizzi or Aaron Ashby. Jake Odorizzi has been good in his last two starts in terms of ERA and WHIP and while he isn’t very trustworthy he is taking on the Detroit Tigers. The Tigers are bad in virtually every offensive category. Again, it’s risky but could work. Aaron Ashby looks to get the start against the Braves. Ashby is a good pitcher with great breaking stuff but the Braves could be tough to handle in this one. I have a gut feeling Ashby does well.
