So we picked two pitchers yesterday and we got some mixed results. Zach Eflin pitched six innings allowing just one run with three strikeouts. We would have liked to see more strikeouts and Eflin continues to lack in that category. Unfortunately, Eflin continues to be nothing more than a streamer at this point. Mitch Keller had a disappointing outing pitching 4.2 innings with four earned runs and just one strikeout. His improved control was gone in the one has his pitch illustrator was all over the map. Let’s give him one more start.

Today’s Streamer (Under 30% rostered)

Our pick for today is going to be Twitter darling, Aaron Ashby. Ashby had a lot of buzz coming into this season and has officially pushed his way into the rotation…for now. He hasn’t been overwhelming so far this season but a matchup with the Pirates could help. They don’t really strike out and make a lot of contact but I think Ashby can use that to his advantage and induce a ton of ground balls.

If Ashby isn’t on your wire you can look towards Paul Blackburn in San Francisco. The Giants’ offense hasn’t been elite like last season so pitching in their ballpark could work out just fine. Blackburn has been impressive this season with his uptick in velocity and new pitch mix, he currently has a 23.6 K-BB% and 2.22 SIERA to start the season.

Deep League Streamer (Under 15% rostered)

Aaron Ashby is actually just 13% rostered so he is our deep league option. If you need to dive deeper look no further than Glenn Otto. Otto only has one start under his belt but he finished it with a 20.0 SwStr%, an elite number. Otto has some strikeout upside to him and while Houston’s offense is tough he is pitching at home and that ballpark will only help him.

Shallow League Streamer (Under 50% rostered)

The matchup isn’t great but Steven Matz has been pitching really well since his week one blow-up. Matz overall for the season has an impressive 23.0 K-BB% and 2.52 SIERA. Pitching at home will help him, the defense will be comfortable and he should be able to handle the Mets hitters.
