Our Tyler Wells stream didn’t work out so well. He lasted just 2.1 innings and allowed two earned runs. It was honestly a weird outing because in the first two innings he looked great. He came into the third and kept getting ahead of the count early but just couldn’t put them away. You win some and you lose some right? As of right now until we see more from Wells we will be staying away.

Today’s Streamer (Under 30% rostered)

There has been a lot of shifting going on in terms of rotations so things got a bit messy for the weekend and we had to change some of our picks. For today our pick is going to be David Peterson as he takes on the Arizona Diamondbacks. People seem to have forgotten about Peterson but he is a solid prospect and he really displayed how deadly his slider could be in 2020 when it had an 18.1 SwStr%. The Diamondbacks’ offense has been terrible on almost every level so he should be able to help us with ratios and strikeouts.

Jameson Taillon is a solid backup option. I really like the way his fastball has been looking but he does take on the Guardians’ offense which has been one of the hottest in the league. If Taillon is on, he will be just fine. If he isn’t, you could see your ratios blow up.

Glenn Otto got the call to make a start against the Athletics. He is definitely intriguing since he continues to get a ton of strikeouts in the minors. Let’s see what he does today, but if you want a shot in the dark he isn’t a bad option.

Another pitcher I would like to mention, especially for strikeout upside, is Reid Detmers. Detmers hasn’t pitched great this season but he does pose as a serious threat in terms of strikeouts. He takes on the Orioles who have been striking out a ton in fact, they have the second-highest K% in the league. This means even if Detmers doesn’t provide the best ratios he should really help out with strikeouts.

Deep League Streamer (Under 15% rostered)

David Peterson and Reid Detmers! If you want to go even deeper this might sound crazy but I would go with Antonio Senzatela. He will be on the road in Detroit against a weak offense in a pitcher ballpark. Let’s not forget that Senzatela went on a really nice run last season with quality starts and can perform at a high level (it just usually isn’t very often).

Shallow League Streamer (Under 50% rostered)

In shallow leagues, the pick has to be Steven Matz. After Matz had a blow-up in his first start he rebounded nicely and looked like the pitcher we saw in 2021. He takes on the Cincinnati Reds who have the highest K% in the league. The ballpark is tough but Matz should be able to skate by.
