Holy crap, we are back! Today is opening day and I could not be more excited! We have some amazing content coming to you daily here at SP Streamer, content that will certainly help you win your leagues. As always, we will pick a starting pitcher streamer every single day, so if you need another start for the week we are here for you. We revamped the spreadsheet a little by adding different metrics to it. We will also be providing you deep league and shallow options in terms of rostered percentage. Let’s do it!

Today’s Streamer (Under 30% rostered)

I’m going to start this off with a bit of a downer. Streaming in the first month is insanely difficult, so please beware when doing so. Once we have data through April things should become a little easier. Okay, enough of that!

On the first day of the season, we only have four options in Patrick Corbin, Madison Bumgarner, Tylor Megill, and JT Brubaker. Corbin is rostered in 42% of leagues so we can’t take him here which leaves us with Megill, Bumgarner, and Brubaker. I’m a big Tylor Megill fan and I was very happy when he was announced as the opening day starter. Megill has a solid skillset with two really good breaking balls and a developing fastball. The upside here is the reason why Megill my pick for today, if he runs smoothly he should help you in virtually every category.

Madison Bumgarner grabs a matchup against the Padres whose lineup isn’t so scary, plus his velocity has been up in spring training. Perhaps that new pitching coach of theirs helped unlock something and Bumgarner has a bit of resurgence. Expect Bumgarner to get you innings, strikeouts, and potentially decent ratios if you have to go this route.

Deep League Streamer (Under 15% rostered)

Tylor Megill is only 9% rostered so he of course becomes our deep league streamer as well.

Shallow League Streamer (Under 50% rostered)

This is where Mr. Patrick Corbin comes into play! Corbin doesn’t have the easiest matchup facing off against the Mets but we are relying on what Corbin showed us at the end of last season. He started throwing his slider more and his fastball velocity started to consistently reach 93 MPH. His velocity is extremely important and is the number one thing to watch. Corbin could easily get you everything you need and is a great play to try and get strikeouts, ratios, and even a quality start.

Future Picks
